Mission
To build software companies can depend on: senior engineering, delivered as code our clients own and can run without us.
Software studio · Cloud · Applied AI
Maguana designs, builds and runs cloud platforms, software and AI systems for companies that depend on them, delivered as code you own.
Rooted in Quisqueya. Built for the world.
What we do
Three practices that meet in the same systems. We design them, build them, run them, and hand them over in a state your own team can keep running.
Cloud foundations that stay understandable. Your own team can run them without us.
Software written to be read, tested and changed long after launch.
Agents and automation that do real work, with private or local inference when your data has to stay in-house.
Now
A running log, newest first. Each entry is something real: live, in progress or next up.
This site. A contour-line Cordillera, the cemí eye and a name that rises into a mountain range, written by hand with no framework.
Marks, lockups, avatars and social images for Maguana and Maguana Labs, generated from code so every size stays consistent.
The first Labs tool we already use ourselves, published under an open licence.
Maguana Labs
Labs is where we build tools, experiments and AI projects we use ourselves before anyone else does. The first open-source releases land in 2027.
About
To build software companies can depend on: senior engineering, delivered as code our clients own and can run without us.
Systems that outlast the people who built them: understood, owned and still running years from now. And proof that world-class engineering can be rooted anywhere, starting with Quisqueya.
We choose names, shapes and code that will still make sense years from now.
The person you talk to is the person who builds it.
Everything as code, reviewable and handed over. No lock-in.
What changed, what it costs and what comes next, in writing.
Maguana Labs builds tools we run ourselves first, in the open.
The name
Maguana was one of the five cacicazgos of Quisqueya, the island now shared by the Dominican Republic and Haiti. The name still lives in San Juan de la Maguana.
Our mark is the Cordillera Central around Jarabacoa, where our founder grew up, written as a command prompt: two ridges as carets, the river as the cursor. The Labs mark comes from the eyes carved into Taíno cemí figures. We chose names and shapes that have lasted five centuries, because we want to build things that last too.
